Ok, so I guess I'm a lousy salesman because I can't get into lots of glorious phrases here for how nice it is to have my old QUICK computer back. When I first got my XP computer it was so fast that I told my best friend, "This thing is so powerful I don't know why I'd ever have to upgrade to a more powerful computer."
Then the time factor kicked in. The more time I spent actually using my computer the slower - true, it was little by little but still... - the slower it got.
Took forever to start up. Programs took two or three times longer to load up. Jobs took me longer and longer to complete.
I Wanted My Fast Computer Back and I Got It!
It was really a drag. A drag on my time and a drag on my fun using the computer.
Anyway, for $9.97 - yeah, only Ten Bucks - this guy gives me over twenty pages of instructions on how to clean up the Microsoft Mess that became my computer. Easy stuff. I'm no computer geek but even I could follow his instructions. Some of the stuff I knew but had forgotten. Other stuff was just plain news to me. Even free software I could use to clean up my computer. Oh, and he's not selling addtional stuff there. It's just information.
Anyhow, if your computer sometimes bugs you because it's getting slower or you just want to do some preventive maintenance to keep it fast, I'd say check out this guys help now.(It's not a buy button, it's just information.)
Counter Strike regardless of which version has always had a massive amount of mods and add ons available to make your server different. Because of the massive amounts of plug-ins, scripts, game type modifiers, protection scripts etc., we would be here for a month of Sundays! This should be a helpful with setting up mods on CSS Servers.
Mani Admin Plugin
Possibly the most well know mod on CSS and Team Fortress 2 game servers. Mani Admin is a very popular choice for server administration which is written in C++ and one of two of the top admin mods. The plug-in features all the day to day admin stuff like banning, kick, map changes etc. Also allows the use of public initiated voting. The plug-in also features the ability to add custom sounds like quake sounds, and different skins for players. The down side with the mod is that it has been known to have some quite large exploits in it and so a prime target for hackers.
Metamod Source
Metamod interacts with the engine and the game and allows it to interact with the commands that go between the two layers. This is just a base to allow other modders to build there plug-ins from. This as well is a C++ plug-in and has been designed to not have unnecessary functions like MySQL or game play modifications.
Sourcemod
There are plenty of gameservers that use Sourcemod as a mod . This is another administration plug-in that requires the use of Metamod to run. Sourcemod features all the core admin function one would need but also has a highly customizable permission system. Reserved slots are a handy function to always allow you and your friends to get on your own server without having to wait for a free slot. Player voting can be performed just like Mani. Sourcemod has in excess of 450 approved add-ons for the mod from the community. I have always been the bigger fan of Sourcemod over Mani as its more robust and a great interface.
Mattie’s EventScripts
Eventscripts is used to add increased functionality by either allowing you write your own scripts to be used in game or one of many that the community has written. The Eventscripts language have been made so its easy for all to learn and code in. Eventscripts also allows the use the python scripting language.
GunGame
Gungame is one of the most popular game modifiers for Counter Strike and turns the game into a level based system. You start off with low power weapons and advance to higher levels by killing the opposition and with the last levels requiring the highest skill with things like HE grenades and the knife. This is just one of the popular add-ons for Sourcemod and works well with CSS Deathmatch.
CSS Deathmatch
This mod turns CSS into a HL2 style Deathmatch game allowing either team or free for all games. You get spawned to a random part of each map after death and get your weapons by selecting from a menu.
